THÁNH TƯỢNG ĐỨC MẸ MEDJUGORJE ĐƯỢC SỬA LẠI (20/9/08)

The statue of Our Lady that stands on Apparition Hill in Medjugorje was repaired today by a team of sculptors from Italy. Just recently the statue was vandalised and the extended hand cut off. The nose was also damaged.
Did not our God come into the world to restore our brokenness? Isn’t this the message of Medjugorje – restoration?
I see this repair as a far more positive ‘sign’ than some of the speculation circulating about ‘broken hands’ and suggesting that Our Lady’s grace is being withdrawn. Shows me we have to be patient in these matters and trust in God and not allow the enemy to plant negativity and anxiety in our hearts!
God restores through the work and hands of his children. Hands mirror the heart in action!
And with regard to today’s repair to the statue, there are two more correlations that are worth considering:
(1) The statue has been restored on the day the Church remembers the death of the Korean Martyrs. The statue was given to the parish of Medjugorje by a Korean pilgrim family in thanksgiving for the miraculous healing of their child at Medjugorje.
(2) The statue was damaged on the day the Church acknowledged the martyrdom and mutilation of John the Baptist, beheaded at the request of the daughter of Herodias and then handed on a plate to her mother.
So we see that two significant dates in the Church’s calendar, both memorials of martyrdom, correlate in a special way with the damage and repair to Our Lady’s statue. What does this tell us, if anything, of the Church and its prophets, its priests and proclaimers? What does this tell us of Mary’s role as Mother of the Church?
Finally, when we pray, “Hail Mary, full of grace”, then surely we must accept that the grace of Our Lady is never withdrawn, but that we can choose to avail ourselves or not of this grace. The choice is ours. God does not withhold his grace dispensed through his Mother. She is ALWAYS full of grace. The Lord is ALWAYS with her, and she is ALWAYS blessed.

Thánh tượng Đức Mẹ ở trên đỉnh đồi Hiện Ra tại Medjurgorje, đã được sửa chữa lại vào ngày 20/9/2008 bởi một nhóm điệu khắc gia người Ý. Gần đây, thánh tượng Mẹ bị phá hoại. Tay Mẹ bị cắt đứt và mũi Mẹ bị dập.
Có phải Thiên Chúa đến thế gian để sửa lại những sự đổ vỡ của con người không? Đây có phải là thông điệp của Mẹ Medjugorje không? Sự hàn gắn lại!.
Tôi nhận thấy sự han gắn này là một dấu hiệu tích cực hơn là những lời đồn đãi cho rằng bàn tay Mẹ bị cắt đứt là dấu hiệu ơn lành Mẹ bị rút lại. Vì thế, chúng ta cần kiên nhẫn và tín thác vào Chúa, và không cho phép kẻ thù gieo rắc những điều tiêu cực và lo âu trong trái tim chúng ta!
Chúa sửa lại mọi sự qua công việc và bàn tay của con cái Ngài. Đôi tay là tấm kiếng của một tâm hồn đang hành động.
Công việc sửa lại thánh tương Mẹ hôm nay có hai ý nghĩa đáng cho chúng ta suy nghĩ:
1. Thánh Tương được sửa lại vào ngày mà Giáo Hội tưởng niệm các vị Thánh Tử Đạo người Đại Hàn. Thánh tượng do một gia đình Đai Hàn dâng biếu khi con của họ được ơn chữa lành kỳ diệu tại Medjugorje.
2. Thánh Tương bị hư hại trong ngày Giáo Hội tưởng nhớ sự Tử Đạo của Thánh Gioan Tiền Hô khi con gái của bà Herodia xin vua cắt đầu Ngài và đặt trên dĩa để đem cho mẹ nó.
Vì thế, chúng ta thấy hai ngày quan trọng mà Giáo Hội tưởng nhớ các vị thánh Tử Đạo lại liên quan đến Thánh Tương Mẹ Maria. Điều này cho ta thấy vai trò của Giáo Hội và các vị tiên tri, các linh mục và người tuyên xưng đức tin, và vai trò của Đức Mẹ trong Giáo Hội.
Sau cùng, khi chúng ta cầu nguyện Kinh Mừng Maria đầy ơn phúc, chúng ta phải chấp nhận rằng ơn lành của Đức Mẹ không bao giờ bị lấy đi, nhưng chúng ta phải dọn mình để nhận lãnh các ơn lành này.
Sự chọn lựa là của chúng ta. Chúa không giữ lại ơn lành mà Ngài đã ban qua Mẹ của Ngài. Mẹ luôn đầy ơn phúc. Thiên Chúa luôn ở cùng Mẹ , và Mẹ luôn được chúc phúc.

Một câu chuyện khác nói về Đức Mẹ của Núi Rừng được đăng trên website của giáo xứ Medjugorje . Đó là tấm hình của một người Ý leo núi tên là Nadia Tiraboschi. Anh này dẫn một phái đoàn lên đỉnh núi Mt Everest vào năm ngoái và anh ta chụp hình với tấm ảnh nổi tiếng của Đức Mẹ Medjugojre trên đỉnh ngọn núi cao nhất thế giới.
